MICRO-FLITE^® named its patented* THERMAL EXHAUST THROTTLE™ (patent name) the PET™, which is an acronym for Proportional Exhaust Throttle, for several reasons:

           (1)  Today's MICRO R/C includes both proportional and non-proportional R/C systems/equipment.  However, the PET™ is to be used with modern digital proportional R/C systems with motorized feedback servos (not intended to be used with magnetic actuators or any non-proportional R/C equipment.)

           (2)  The term "proportional" in the PET™'s name emphasizes the importance of proportional throttle setup:  Semisleeve rotation from lowest idle to full speed should correspond respectively to full-down to full-up throttle stick movement for a wide an fully-variable midrange.  Also, throttle stick movement with corresponding semisleeve rotation should be fully proportional for a smooth progressive change of RPM. (Throttle setup is now very fast and easy with the new DU-BRO Mini E/Z connector.)

          (3)  PET™ is a cute name, which is appropriate for the COX TEE DEE .010 ENGINE - the cutest glow engine ever manufactured!
