MICRO R/C BREAKTHROUGHS
At the end of the 20th century a remarkable breakthrough was made in the miniaturization of R/C equipment. R/C receivers and servos that once weighed pounds, then, ounces were reduced in weight, until they weighed only grams! Consequently, small R/C models no longer have very heavy wing loadings and relatively poor flying performance.
Another remarkable breakthrough at the beginning of the 21st century
was in battery capacity (MAH). In the 1930's R/C flight battery packs weighed pounds. Today it is safe and practical to fly with flight battery packs that weigh only grams!
